Lyrics

Someone drew the lines before me
Someone built the walls I know
I've been living in a structure
I was never meant to outgrow

And now I feel the weight of it
Pressing down on everything

These are fault lines running through me
Through the world and through the years
Someone wanted us divided
Someone needed us in fear

It's not just me who's been in pieces
It's not just me who lost the thread
There's a silence under everything
Holding back what should be said

These are fault lines running through me
Through the world and through the years
Someone wanted us divided
Someone needed us in fear

Who decided
Who designed it
Who divided
Me from you

The walls are starting to crack now
The walls are starting to crack...

The Story

There comes a moment where you see it. Nothing stands apart from you. And then it slips. The old world closes back over you like water, and you are sure again that you are one small thing among many.

The doubt comes back. You feel separate. You feel certain there is a them, certain you are out here on your own. So you sit in the questions, and they do not lift just because you ask them to.

But under all of it the truth is simple. There is no separation. Every voice that doubts you, every other you have ever feared, is you, because there has never been anyone else. And that is when the walls you were so sure of begin to crack.
